List Feature Framework

The List Feature Framework contains the core files for using and developing list features. You need to install the framework before you can develop or install list features. It does not contain any list feature by its own. We provide you with a real world example list feature over here.

The framework is packaged as a SharePoint Solution (.wsp) file and contains one feature to be activated to allow the use of list features on a site collection. This page will show you step by step how to install the framework on your SharePoint farm and how to activate it for your site collection.

Installation Guide

  1. Unzip the contents of the zip to a folder on a SharePoint frontend
  2. Rename the setup.exe.bak file to setup.exe
  3. Follow the instructions of the SharePoint Installer

Activation Guide

  1. Go to the site collection on which you wish to use list features
  2. Browse to the Site Settings
  3. Find the Site collection features menu item, situated under the Site Collection Administration header
  4. Activate the List Feature framework feature by clicking on the button next to it
  5. Make sure the feature is activated
List Features can now be installed and configured within your site collection
